Some info which may be helpful for all. For appointments: Limerick.registration @ garda .ie For change of address or urgent inquiry: LIMERICK.IMMIGRATIONUNIT @ garda .ie When requesting for an appointment, include these details: FULL NAME TELEPHONE NUMBER REGISTRATION NUMBER (found on back of IRP) DATE OF EXPIRY OF IRP Important points to note: - There is a long waiting list (it was 14-16 weeks in July), so request for an appointment early. Request via email and include the details shown above. - Once email is sent, you will receive an automated reply confirming your request has been received. This is not an appointment. About a week before your appointment, you’ll receive another email with your appointment details and required list of documents, similar to the images attached. You will not hear anything until then. Although it can be difficult, the best option is to wait. - Print all your documents, including the appointment email. Hardcopies are a hard requirement. Again, print all your documents. - For payslips, bring at least 3 recent ones. Do not bring old payslips, as it will not be considered. The more recent, the better. Remember, at least 3. - For proof of address, only utility bills (electricity or gas) or broadband bills are allowed. Utility bills are best. Bring at least 3 recent bills. Do not bring old bills. If you don’t pay any bills, get a printed letter from your landlord (must be signed) and attach at least 3 recent bills, which are in your landlord’s name and address. Remember, all hardcopies and address must match. - Make sure the address in your proof of address is updated on the system as your current address. If you move houses at any point, email the address shown above to update your address. This is important. If you attend your appointment and it is found that your address on the system does not match your current address (the one on your proof of address), there may be consequences. - Arrive for your appointment about 10-15 mins earlier. Do not arrive too early, you may be sent away. Do not arrive late, you may also be sent away. - At the office, wait to be called. Do not go to the counter yourself. It’s not first come first serve, they follow the given appointment times. If you are there on time, but they still have not called you, be patient. Eventually, they will. - For current Stamp 4 holders who are renewing to extend their Stamp 4, please bring your Stamp 4 Support Letter. This is the same letter which was required when going from Stamp 1 to Stamp 4. This letter is required even when going from Stamp 4 to Stamp 4. Failure to produce this letter could result in your renewal to be postponed, meaning you will not be allowed to work until your next appointment, which could be months later, given the waiting list. Remember, letter must be a hardcopy. - If you forget to print something before your appointment, the Brazilian shop across the road offers printing services. Again, this only applies if you forget before your appointment. If you forget something when speaking to the officer, it’s too late. You’ll need to come back for another appointment at a different date as informed by the officer. If sent away, do not attempt to come back to the office with your printed documents, you will be sent away again. Show up on the date they tell you to. - Have your documents organised in a folder, makes it easier for both parties. - Payment is card only. - They take a photo of you at the appointment. - Your card will be posted to you, can take up to 21 days. - Bring your passport. It will not be stamped. All the best to everyone!
Once the appointment had been made, everything went quickly. I was treated very well. I got my visa with officer Karen, and she was lovely, friendly, patient, and helpful. Karen is very professional and, absolutely she has all skills for high position at immigration office/ Irish foreign ministry.
The service and behaviour of this office officers doesn’t even deserve 1⭐️, If you need an appointment you need to wait 4 months just to renew your IRP card even if your IRP card is expired and the officers doesn’t care if you are going on holiday if you have something urgent and need to travel. If you ring them and try to tell them your situation you will be shouted by an old lady and tell you wait until you get appointment and she will hang up the phone, that’s the service and behaviour of them how they treat people. Simply I would say very slow service and mostly very rude officers
It took me terribly 3.5 months to get the appointment. However, once the appointment had been made, everything went quick. I was treated very well. I got to do my visa with officer named Karen, and she was lovely, friendly, patient, and helpful. I had postive and impressive experience.
Not a star even it’s not organized they said to me they are trying their hard to get appointments as person apply date but how person applied in August didn’t get an appointment yet while others they applied in September & they got sooner appointment that’s not fair really disappointed I wished not to come to study in this city cause of this bad treat why other offices in other cities more organized? if there are lots of pressure from last year why there is no a development in the system? two years and those process should be faster but here each year getting slower and slower!!! This pic from last year review happened and it is again happening to me can’t believe getting through this
