We were very well taken care of by the local team, and I would like to express my sincere thanks to the entire maternity ward staff. This is my third child born in Ireland (the first two were in Dublin), and I can say that here in Letterkenny we also found excellent, attentive, and caring professionals. However, there is a serious issue that cannot be ignored: smoking around the hospital. Right below the maternity ward windows on the first floor, where mothers are recovering and newborn babies are staying, many people stop to smoke. This includes staff members, patients, and visitors. There are clear No Smoking signs, but they are constantly ignored. The smoke goes directly up to the rooms, forcing patients to close their windows to avoid inhaling it. Even worse, I personally saw hospital staff accompanying patients to smoke in that same area. The security team does absolutely nothing about it, even when they are made aware. This gives the impression of complacency or, at the very least, incompetence. It is unacceptable that a hospital with such good healthcare professionals allows this neglect to affect the well-being of vulnerable patients. To be clear: the maternity unit is excellent, and the healthcare staff are outstanding. But the hospital’s security policies and enforcement need urgent improvement, because they are far below the standard of the medical team. 📷 I included only photos where people’s faces are not visible, so the focus is on the problem itself: the repeated practice of smoking in clearly prohibited areas.
The best clinic on the planet. My son was in this hospital twice. All the doctors are responsive, they know how to establish contact with the child, calm him down. They accepted him quickly, quickly put him in the children's ward and started treatment. Thank you very much.
Better than the morgue. If you want to avoid treatment and basic medical care this is definitely the spot! Not only have they refused to treat me for three month leading me to develop severe ulcers but can’t treat people with any type of neurological conditions, I have high functioning autism yet everything I say gets looked passed due to the difference in my brain. People are forced to sleep on the floor and trolleys because they have no bed for anybody, the hospital is riddled with disease and although they have a code of behaviour for patients apparently it doesn’t apply to the doctors and nurses.
Attended day services,LUH for procedure July 16th. Excellent service from reception to my discharge. Nursing staff were professional, efficient, kind and caring. For such a busy unit, with high volume of patients and turn over it was exceptionally well managed. As a nurse, l was highly impressed and commend the notable leadership, and collegiate teamwork evident with nursing, medical and support staff witnessed. Keep up the great work.
Went in to A&E for chest pains, and had to get bloods done as part of the tests. First nurse couldn't find the vein, second nurse that came in ended up puncturing the nerve in my left arm which sent a massive shock down my arm. When I screamed in pain she told me to calm down as if I was bothering her, and when I told her she hit a nerve, she told me there were no nerves there. Really, the Median nerve just doesn't exist then? Guess everybody complaining of carpal tunnel are liars then. To this day I have a burning sensation in my left arm that returns if I do any physical activity with it. So I'd like to thank you personally for that, you horrible person. Thank you for ignoring my pain and trying to gaslight me. But most of all, thank you for this continuous pain that refuses to go away.
