Waited 12 hours. No trolley to lay on to ease my pain. Eventually seen by a doctor for less than 5 minutes. Told him my symptoms and my referral from Roscommon hospital. He found out that I was being treated for a mental health disorder. Told me that my symptoms were impossible. Sent me back to Roscommon with no information. I was lucky that a clinical consultant was on duty in Roscommon when I got back to help to reduce the risk of a rupture to my bowl. The Doctor in relation told me he was going to submit a complaint to portiuncula hospital but I have not heard anything back. I have been treated many doctors outside the ED units. Having trained in the ED they have all confirmed my suspicions. ED doctors who are almost all students don't want anything to do with psychiatric patients. They do not know what to do and don't want the responsibility. They belive that you are making up symptoms, looking for attention. Thanks why psyc patients always get left at the bottom of the queue. I hate this place.

The hospital is tremendously good, the staff are amazing and they work with passion. Thank you so much for treating my son Bryan who had a serious Rsv and low oxygen levels. We stood there for 1 week straight and the staff did a tremendously good job, the nurses and doctors are brilliant. Thanks God my son got better. Love you guys.

To the most amazing team of midwives, I’m ever so grateful to have had such an amazing support system as I laboured. It’s been 16 months since my son was born, and for the longest time I’ve been wanting to publicly thank Helena (who welcomed me as soon as I came in, and treated me as if she had known me her whole life with such warmth and kindness) Caroline, Rima, Amy and last but certainly not least, Louise who pushed me through the toughest part of my labour, and literally held my hand as I was preparing to meet my son. These women guided me, instructed me, patiently answered my questions and most importantly, worked with me and supported me through the entire process, and any new mom would be lucky to have them by their side in the most important day of their lives. Forever grateful

We have had to visit this hospital a few times with our young daughter. And although it's not great to ever have to go to any hospital. The A&E in the pediatrics department are absolutely fantastic from the nurses to senior doctors. They are freindly great with the kids and in my opinion they care so much about the well being and health of the children. They don't get enough credit for the work they do.

My 100 year old dad passed away peacefully in Portiuncula Hospital ten days ago. From the moment he arrived in ED he was treated with the utmost care and respect. His needs were met at all stages of his final journey both in ED and later in CCU. I would like to convey our thanks and appreciation to all the hardworking nurses and doctors who looked after Dad during the two days he spent in hospital. We will always be grateful to you for your compassion and support at a very difficult time.
